Kainan sa Tabing Lawa traces its humble beginnings as a small coffee shop founded in 1967. Known as D’ Fisherman’s Hut, the coffee shop provided the local fishermen a place to sip a hot cup of coffee before and after going on fishing expeditions at Laguna Lake. With founder Mr. Benjamin C. Mendoza’s intention to help these fishermen earn a living, the coffee shop then turned into a restaurant. Fresh fishes like Pla-Pla, Dalag, and Hito were bought from the fishermen every morning, and then cooked for diners who wanted to eat fresh fish from the lake.

Through the years, the restaurant became well-known not only in Tanay but also in nearby towns of the province. Customers from as far as Metro Manila also visit the place for our delicious and fresh seafood specialties. To date, our patrons keep on coming back to savor our classic original specialties like crispy fried Dalag, Sinigang na Kanduli sa Misu and also to experience the good ambiance of the place while eating.
The existence of Kainan sa Tabing Lawa for decades now happened because of the continuous patronage of our dear customers. With that, we are committed to provide the same recipes and services for your satisfaction.

Maraming Salamat Hane!
